Deze BMW is in 1972 nieuw verkocht aan de eerste eigenaresse door BMW-dealer Binelli & Ehrsam AG in Zürich, Zwitserland. Zwitserland staat bekend om het uitstekende onderhoud en goede documentatie van de auto's. Bij dit exemplaar is dat niet anders: nagenoeg alle servicebeurten zijn keurig genoteerd in het originele serviceboekje. Zelfs uitgebreide facturen uit de jaren "80 en "90 zijn nog aanwezig. De auto is in 1997 geïmporteerd uit Zwitserland en in 1998 verkocht aan de eerste en laatste eigenaar in Nederland, die de auto dus ruim 25 jaar in bezit heeft. Deze eigenaar is groot BMW-liefhebber en de 3.0 CS is dan ook een auto uit zijn collectie. In 2023 is veel onderhoud aan de auto uitgevoerd, nieuwe wiellagers aan de voorzijde, revisie van de airconditioning, nieuwe koplampen, nieuwe stabilisatorstangrubbers, motorolie ververst + filter, nieuwe ruitenwissers, luidsprekers hoedenplank vernieuwd, nieuwe accu, dynamo gereviseerd, zijruiten gangbaar gemaakt, kleppen gesteld, ontsteking, bougies, verdelerkap en contactpuntjes vernieuwd, diverse slangen van het koelsysteem vernieuwd gemonteerd. De auto rijdt en schakelt dan ook uitstekend en in de zomer van 2023 heeft hij zelfs een 4000km lange clubrit naar Roemenië probleemloos voltooid.

Onderscheidende opties van het door ons aangeboden exemplaar zijn naast de airconditioning een elektrische antenne met radio/casettespeler en elektrische zijruiten. Kenmerkend aan het design van Wilhelm Hofmeister is het ontbreken van de B-stijl en de karakteristieke ''Hofmeister knik'' welke nog steeds op elke moderne BMW te vinden is. Door het ontbreken van de B-stijl kan bij het openen van alle 4 zijruiten puur genoten worden van de buitenlucht en het ontwerp die dan perfect tot zijn recht komt. Dankzij de luxe uitvoering en automatische transmissie is de auto een heerlijke, comfortabele reisauto. De betrouwbare M30 3.0 liter 6-cilinder lijnmotor levert 180 pk en brengt de auto in 8,2 naar 100 km/u: indrukwekkende prestaties. De uitvoering in zilvergrijze kleur 'polaris' met blauwe velours bekleding van het interieur is zeer stijlvol. Ook de staat van de carrosserie, het lakwerk en het originele interieur zijn zeer netjes te noemen. In 1968 bracht BMW hun nieuwe auto in de topklasse uit: de 2800 CS. Een grote tweedeurs coupe die in 1971 door de 3.0 CS met vernieuwde en vergrote motor voorzien van twee dubbele Zenith-carbarateurs werd opgevolgd. De auto is vergelijkbaar met de huidige 6-serie van BMW: een grote, luxueuze toerauto die ook sportieve prestaties levert. Het geluid uit de soepele 6-cilinder lijn motor is prachtig en maakt de slogan 'Freude am Fahren' toepasselijk. De auto is ontworpen door Wilhelm Hofmeister beschikt over de kenmerkende 'haaienneus' en 'Hofmeisterknik' in de achterste dakstijl. Door de grote raampartijen is het interieur ruim en licht. Daarnaast is het interieur prachtig afgewerkt met door hout ingelegde delen en prachtig verzonken tellers. Kortom, een tijdloze klassieker die lang ondergewaardeerd bleef maar waarvan een goed exemplaar steeds moeilijker te vinden is.

This BMW was sold new in 1972 to its first owner by BMW dealer Binelli & Ehrsam AG in Zurich, Switzerland. Switzerland is known for excellent maintenance and good documentation of its cars. It is no different with this example: almost all servicing is neatly noted in the original service booklet. Even extensive invoices from the '80s and '90s are still present. The car was imported from Switzerland in 1997 and sold in 1998 to the first and last owner in the Netherlands, who thus owned the car for over 25 years. This owner is a great BMW enthusiast and the 3.0 CS is therefore a car from his collection. In 2023, a lot of maintenance was done on the car, new wheel bearings at the front, an overhaul of the air conditioning, new headlights, new stabiliser bar rubbers, engine oil change + filter, new windscreen wipers, loudspeakers, rear shelf renewed, new battery, dynamo overhauled, side windows made operable, valves adjusted, ignition, spark plugs, distributor cap and contact points renewed, various hoses of the cooling system renewed fitted. As a result, the car drives and shifts superbly and in the summer of 2023 it even completed a 4000km club drive to Romania without any problems.

Distinctive options of the one we offer include, besides air conditioning, an electric antenna with radio/casette player and electric side windows. Characteristic of Wilhelm Hofmeister's design is the lack of the B-pillar and the characteristic ''Hofmeister kink'' that can still be found on every modern BMW. The absence of the B-pillar means that, when opening all four side windows, you can purely enjoy the outside air and the design, which then comes into its own perfectly. Thanks to its luxury equipment and automatic transmission, the car is a wonderfully comfortable travel car. The reliable M30 3.0-litre 6-cylinder inline engine produces 180 hp and takes the car to 100 km/h in 8.2: impressive performance. The execution in silver-grey colour 'polaris' with blue velour upholstery of the interior is very stylish. The condition of the bodywork, paintwork and original interior are also very clean. Below is general information about the BMW 3.0 CS
In 1968, BMW released their new top-of-the-range car: the 2800 CS. A large two-door coupe that was succeeded in 1971 by the 3.0 CS with updated and enlarged engine fitted with two twin Zenith carburettors. The car is similar to BMW's current 6 Series: a large, luxurious touring car that also delivers sporting performance. The sound from the smooth 6-cylinder inline engine is beautiful and makes the slogan 'Freude am Fahren' apt. Designed by Wilhelm Hofmeister, the car features the distinctive 'shark nose' and 'Hofmeisterknik' in the rear roof pillar. The large windows make the interior spacious and bright. In addition, the interior is beautifully finished with wood-inlaid parts and beautifully recessed counters. In short, a timeless classic that long remained underappreciated but of which a good specimen is increasingly difficult to find.
